Nelson Brewery

Nelson Brewery is a San Diego based microbrewery that was created by two friends who originally started brewing beer in their garage. They now have a small business with a handful of employees.

The company needed labels for an upcoming release of a mosaic IPA. The company requested abstract artwork that had high contrast imagery to make their cans stand out. Something that resembled a mosaic.

The labels that were created were were inspired by Moroccan mosaic and tile art. Shapes, design, and high-contrast complementary color were based upon previous Moroccan styles. The artwork itself has a popping 3-d effect with modern humanist san serif typography.
